Pearl Millet(Kambu) Flour Dosa

Pearl Millet is also Known as Bajra in Hindi and Bengali, Sajjalu in Telugu, Kambu in Tamil and Malayalam, Sajje in Kannada, and Bajri in Gujarati, Pearl millet is a widely grown millet in India and West Africa.

Instant Kambu Dosai

Cooking time: 10 min

Ingredients needed:

    • 1 cup Pearl millet flour / Kambu maavu

    • 1/4 Cup wheat flour

    • Chopped onions

    • Chopped green chillies

    • Chopped Coriander leaves

    • 1tsp cumin seeds

    • Asafoetida(Hing)

    • salt to taste

    • oil as needed

Method to Make:

1.Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix it using a whisk adding water gradually. It should be watery enough to pour and spread by itself.

2.Heat a Dosa tawa, drizzle with oil, pour the dosa batter, first outer circle, then to fill it. Cook on medium flame. You can cook covered and skip flipping or flip and cook, it's up to you.

3.Serve hot Dosa with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or sambar for a complete meal.

Tips:

1.Add grated carrot, Finely chopped onions and spinach can elevate its nutritional value and flavor.
