Finger(Ragi)/Sorghum(Cholam) Millet Soup
Ingredients needed:
Ragi(Finger) Millet flour / Sorghum Millet flour(Cholam) - 2 tablespoon
Finely Chopped ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
Finely Chopped garlic - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil/Butter of your choice - 1 teaspoon
Mixed Vegetables cut into small cubes - 1 cup (carrot,beans,onions,cabbage,sweet corn,green peas) etc
Water - 4 to 5 cup as required
Salt - as per your taste
Black pepper - 1 teaspoon ground pepper as per your spice level required
Chili flakes / Green chili - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Cumin(jeera) powder - 1/2 teaspoon(As required)
Rosted paneer pieces - few as per your choice(optional)
Finely chopped coriander Leaves - few
Method to Make:
1.Add 1 teaspoon of Oil/Butter in a saucepan add finely chopped garlic sauté and then add ginger sauté.
2.Add vegetables of your choice, Chili flakes or Green chili sauté, Salt as required and add 3 cups of water to boil the vegetables until they are little soft and crunchy to taste.
3.Once the vegetables are half cooked, Mix the Millet flour with one cup of water without lumps in a separate bowl now add the content to the sauce pan where we cooked the vegetables.
4. Let it boil for 4 to 5 minutes until the Millet flour is cooked thoroughly you will see bubbles in the saucepan once the flour is well cooked.
5.Check for Salt add more if need add pepper powder and cumin powder as required finally garnish with coriander leaves and paneer pieces before u serve.
6.Yummy healthy Millet soup is ready.
Tips:
1.Adding sweet corn enhances the flavor of the soup.
2.Save few roasted garlic chucks add them while you serve to give good aroma to the soup while tasting.
3.You can add any other vegetables of your choice.
